2 drug suspects yield over P754K ‘shabu’

ILOILO City – Two high-value drug suspects were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Poblacion, Carles, Iloilo on Friday, Feb. 16.

Carles police arrested at 3:10 a.m. “Jep”, 38, and “Niel”, 23, both residents of the town’s Sitio Camendez, Barangay Bancal, and seized 23 sachets of suspected shabu valued at around P754,400.

Police Major Harold Rendora, chief of the Carles Municipal Police Station (MPS), said the suspects were under surveillance for three weeks.

“Actually, these two suspects were runners of a drug group who is also our target,” Rendora said.

The suspects were detained at the Carles MPS, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) director Colonel Ronaldo Palomo lauded the Carles police and other support units for their accomplishment against illegal drugs.

Palomo also warned other drug personalities that the IPPO will never cease to hunt them down until they are behind bars./PN
