ILOILO City – A tricycle got hit by a pickup truck in a business district in Mandurriao around 4 a.m. yesterday, Oct. 23. A couple was hurt.
Tricycle driver Noli Perez is in critical condition due to a head injury as of this writing, while his spouse has a minor shoulder injury. Both were residents of Barangay Guzman-Jesena in Mandurriao.
Initial police investigation revealed that the tricycle was traveling from Barangay Q. Abetto towards Taft North, while the pickup truck was from the Festive Mall, attempting to cross the intersection.
The traffic light was allegedly not operational at the time of the incident.
Authorities are currently awaiting camera footages from the area to verify.
Meanwhile, the pickup truck’s driver is now in the custody of the Mandurriao police for further investigation. (With a report from RMN Iloilo)/PN
