ILOILO City – Two of Region 6’s most wanted individuals, both facing rape charges, were apprehended in separate police operations on October 19.
In the first operation, police captured alias “Jimboy”, 30, at around 1:05 p.m. in Barangay Lawaan, Roxas City, Capiz.
A native of Barangay Banica, Roxas City, Jimboy is ranked as the fourth most wanted person in Region 6. He is facing three counts of statutory rape, and no bail has been recommended for his release.
The arrest was a coordinated effort involving the Roxas City Component Police Station, the 1st Capiz Provincial Mobile Force Company, the Capiz Police Provincial Office Intelligence Unit, and the Capiz Maritime Police Station.
Meanwhile, in a separate operation, police nabbed alias “Ed”, 54, in Barangay Tanza Esperanza, Iloilo City. A farmer by profession, Ed is listed as the region’s eighth most wanted individual and faces five counts of rape by carnal knowledge, with no bail recommended.
Both arrests were made possible through collaborative efforts between local police units and the Regional Intelligence Unit 6.
Brigadier General Jack Wanky, Region 6 police director, commended the public for aiding law enforcement.
“The cooperation of the public has been vital in our campaign, and with every arrest, we anticipate a reduction in crime in the region,” Wanky said.
The two suspects are now in police custody and will be turned over to the appropriate courts for further legal proceedings./PN
