ILOILO City – The 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division (3ID) of the Philippine Army welcomed 227 new soldiers who completed their basic military training on Oct. 26 in Camp Macario B. Peralta, Jamindan, Capiz.
The members of the “Sanib Tikas” Class 725-2022 trained for nearly five months.
Of the 227 candidate soldiers composed of 206 males and 21 females, 181 will undergo a 45-day infantry operations course and 46 others will endure the Engineer Combat Support Operation and Orientation Course (ECSOOC).
Colonel Melencio Ragudo, chief of staff of the 3ID, congratulated the new breed of soldiers.
“To be a soldier is destiny. If it is for you, no matter how hard the training is, you will survive it. This is what I told you before. Your only enemy throughout the training is yourself. If you conquer yourself, you can survive the full training,” Ragudo said.
He added, “To the new soldiers of the 3ID, carry on with all the learnings during your training here at 3ID because it will help you a lot when you are already in the field.”/PN
