3 nabbed, P5M worth of ‘shabu’ seized in Concepcion

ILOILO — Police operatives confiscated an estimated P5 million worth of shabu and arrested three drug suspects, including a minor, during a buy-bust operation on Sunday, September 21, in NHA Village, Barangay Bakhawan Sur, Concepcion, Iloilo.

Arrested at around 4 p.m. was a 43-year-old man known as “Budoy,” a resident of Barangay Bolaqueña, Estancia, Iloilo. Also apprehended were his two alleged runners: “Kaye,” 25, and “Noy,” 16, both from Barangay Salvacion, Concepcion.

According to Major Dadje Delima of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), operatives had been monitoring Budoy since last week through an asset. He eventually agreed to sell five grams of shabu worth P13,000 with the help of his two companions.

Upon arrest, authorities recovered a total of 730 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P5 million.

“We have been tailing them since last week after receiving reports that Budoy had received a drug supply from Manila, which was later dropped off in Capiz,” Delima said.

Records show that Budoy had previously been arrested for the same offense but was released through a plea bargaining agreement.

The two adult suspects are now detained at the Concepcion Police Station, while the minor has been turned over to the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of Concepcion. All three face charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

IPPO director Police Colonel Bayani Razalan lauded his men for their dedication and relentless effort in the fight against illegal drugs.
