
ILOILO City – Around P2 million worth of illegal drugs were seized from four individuals in an antidrug operation in Barangay Poblacion Zone 2, Estancia, Iloilo, around 12:43 a.m. on Sunday, August 10.
Authorities identified the suspects as aliases “Trenos”, 31, and “Buloy”, 40, both residents of the said barangay; “Caloy”, 32, of Barangay Cano-an, Estancia; and “Rikoy”, 41, of Barangay Guinticdan, Carles town.
The suspects yielded around 280 grams of suspected shabu approximately valued at P2 million.
According to Police Major Dadje Delima of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), the suspects were under surveillance for three months before the operation.
“Trenos has connections in Manila where they got their stock. They are operating in the provinces of Capiz and Iloilo,” said Delima.
On the other hand, Police Colonel Bayani Razalan, director of IPPO, commended the efforts of the operating teams.
“Ang ini nga madinalag-on nga operasyon nagapamatuod sang aton bug-os nga dedikasyon sa pagtapna sang ilegal nga droga diri sa aton probinsya sang Iloilo. Nagapasalamat gid ako sing daku sa tanan naton nga kasimanwa nga naghatag sang impormasyon nga nangin rason sang pagsikop sang mga imbolbado sa ilegal nga droga,” Razalan said.
He further encouraged the community to help them in the fight against illegal drugs through giving information to the nearest police station.
As of this writing, the suspects were detained and will be charged for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)./PN
