ILOILO – About 1,282 personnel of 12 district hospitals and one provincial hospital in this province already received their initial doses of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccines.
The 43.98 percent of the total 2,915 hospital personnel got their shots in the second week of March, according to Dr. Cynthia Cabangal-Ng, chief of the provincial government’s Hospital Management Office.
“We are now waiting for the second dose of vaccination,” Ng told Panay News.
Some 687 healthcare personnel received CoronaVac vaccines while 595 were inoculated with jabs from AstraZeneca.
Ng added that 1,228 more personnel signified willingness to be vaccinated and “waiting for vaccination pa sila.”
“Maybe after Holy Week kay may ginapaabot nga 1,000 doses sang vaccines ang provincial government from the Department of Health (DOH) in Region 6,” Ng added.
The remaining staff, meanwhile, were said to be still undecided, declined or ineligible for vaccination (pregnant or with co-morbidities).
Ng added that they have yet to receive complaints on side effects of the vaccines.
