ILOILO City β A total of 43,680 frontline health workers in Western Visayas already received their initial doses of vaccines against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
This comprised 34.69 percent of the total target eligible population under A1 priority group, according to Dr. Mary Jane Juanico, head of Department of Health (DOH) Region 6βs infectious disease cluster.

As of April 18, a total of 32,937 have been vaccinated with the China-made CoronaVac vaccine while 10,743 got AstraZeneca vaccines.
Iloilo province had the most number of healthcare workers vaccinated with 9,763 followed by Iloilo City with 8,470, Negros Occidental (7,923), Bacolod City (5,877), Capiz (4,234), Aklan (3, 594), Antique (2,234), and Guimaras (1,585).
Meanwhile, 15,198 of the 43,680 (34.79 percent) already completed their COVID-19 vaccination using jabs from Sinovac Biotech.
VACCINE CONSUMPTION
Region 6 received a total of 50,980 CoronaVac vaccines and 10,000 AstraZeneca vaccines for the first dose.
Juanico reported that the consumption rate for CoronaVac (first dose) is 64.61 percent while 107.43 percent for AstraZeneca.
Juanico said overall, the regionβs consumption rate for both vaccines was 85.68 percent for the first dose.
As to the second dose, Juanico said of the 50,980 CoronaVac vaccines allocated for the second dose, the consumption rate was 29.81 percent.
DOH-6 data showed that the region received a total of 111,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines.
