GUIMARAS – The Guimaras Provincial Government already named the five festival groups that will participate in Manggahan Cultural Competition, one of the main events of the Manggahan Festival 2025.
These five festivals that will join the competition on May 25, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Provincial Capitol Grounds are the following:
* Palayag Festival of Buenavista (honors the oldest municipality’s maritime legacy and resilience through traditional layag vessels);
* Bulantihan Festival of Jordan (celebrates the town’s economic vitality and the spirit of bolante that defines its identity);
* Sadsaran Festival of Nueva Valencia (highlights the town’s agricultural bounty, particularly its renowned Super Galila mangoes and its community-based festivals):
* San Lorenzohanon Festival of San Lorenzo (depicts the municipality’s growth and strong agricultural roots through lively dance and music performances); and
* Balsahan Festival of Sibunag (showcases the mystical Sibunag River and the community’s resourcefulness symbolized by bamboo rafts).
This vibrant event will showcase the unique cultural heritage of Guimaras as it features the captivating performances of five municipalities – each representing their own distinct agricultural and cultural identity
