ILOILO City – In a show of intensified law enforcement, the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) arrested 59 wanted individuals across Western Visayas in just the first half of October, underscoring the region’s heightened campaign to bring fugitives to justice.

Of those apprehended, 18 were tagged as Most Wanted Persons (MWPs) while 41 were classified as Other Wanted Persons (OWPs).

The arrests were made through 61 police operations conducted from October 1 to 15 by the various provincial and city police offices and the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 (RMFB6).

The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) topped the list with 22 arrests, followed by the Capiz Police Provincial Office (CPPO) with 17, and the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) with seven.

The remaining arrests were carried out by other police units in the region.

Based on the level of warrants served, six were regional-level operations, two were provincial or city-level, and 10 were station-level arrests

Police Regional Director Police Brigadier General Josefino Ligan lauded the coordinated efforts of all operating units, emphasizing that the crackdown reflects the police’s commitment to justice and public order.

“The arrest of these wanted persons demonstrates our commitment to uphold the law and maintain peace and order in the region. We will continue to intensify our manhunt operations to bring to justice those evading arrest,” Ligan said.

He also acknowledged the role of community cooperation in the success of the operations.

“We are also grateful for the vital support of our communities whose information played a key role in these successful operations,” he added.

PRO-6 assured the public that its pursuit of wanted persons will remain relentless as part of its sustained efforts to ensure peace, order, and safety in Western Visayas./PN
