BACOLOD City – Seven ambulances have been turned over to different villages in this city, according to the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO).
The vehicles, with a total value of P17.15 million including their medical equipment, were donated by the Department of Health (DOH) in Region 6.
Recipient-barangays were Banago, Cabug, Felisa, Handumanan, Mansilingan, Punta Taytay, and Tangub.
Executive Assistant Jomarie Vargas, cluster head of the CDRRMO, said the ambulances were yet to be utilized by the barangays’ health facilities as they needed to train their ambulance crew first.
The donation was part of DOH’s Health Facilities Enhancement Program which aims to improve the delivery of health services to communities by upgrading of health facilities and providing medical equipment./PN
