BACOLOD City – The Department of Health (DOH) in Western Visayas is expected to turn over seven ambulances to seven barangays here, according to Rep. Greg Gasataya.
Gasataya said the total amount for the ambulances, including equipment, cost more than P17 million.
The barangays of Banago, Cabug, Felisa, Handumanan, Mansilingan, Punta Taytay, and Tangub are the recipients.
The city council approved Mayor Evelio Leonardia’s request for authority to sign the Deed of Donation between the city government and the DOH.
The donation is seen to boost Universal Health Care, making it more accessible to the poor and vulnerable sectors.
The donation is part of DOH’s Health Facilities Enhancement Program which aims to improve delivery of health services and upgrade health facilities and provisions of medical equipment./PN
