SAN JOSE, Antique – A 616-meter zip line in Barangay Padlusan, San Remigio will soon give thrill-seeking tourists visiting Antique a wholesome adventure.
The provincial government, the Provincial Veterinary Office and the University of Antique (UA) are planning to build the Padlusan Adventure Park in the town known as the “Little Baguio of Antique” for its cool weather.
The Park is an agri-tourism project aimed at developing livestock breeding with the help of a zip line and related facilities and structures.
“The zip line project is expected to be completed by the second week (of April) to accommodate guests who are participants in this year’s Palarong Pambansa,” UA president Victor E. Navarra told the press.
Zip line riders are expected to get a good view of this capital town and even the scenic mountains of the neighboring San Joaquin, Iloilo, said Navarra.
Concerned agencies recently signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) for the project.
Adventure Park guests may also ride a horse and milk a goat, said Provincial Veterinarian Romeo Magdato.
Capitol and the UA already signed in 2011 a MOA on a dairy project at the old Antique National Agricultural School in a 20-hectare site in the village, Navarra said.
Under the amended MOA, the UA property may be used not only for livestock breeding but also other agri-tourism activities. (PIA/PN)
