ILOILO City – As part of the agency’s effort to protect consumers, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) urged consumers to buy safe and reliable Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) in retail stores and markets.
LPG is one of the mandatory products issued certification by the Bureau of Product Standards.
Thus, the DTI released these guidelines on how to check LPG:
*Check necessary markings found on the product like tare weight (weight without content). Tare weight should be written on the body of the cylinder.
*Check Product Standard (PS) and/or Import Commodity Clearance (ICC) markings on the collar or foot ring.
*Check the brand name like Solane, Gasul or Petronas.
*Check dented marks on the body of cylinder. Dented marks indicate dangers and unsafe LPG tanks./PN
