ILOILO City – The CenterPhil Montessori Silver Knights kept its clean slate in the 2017 Iloilo City Invitational Basketball League (Mayors Cup – 1st Conference) with a 93-75 win over Mandurriao National High School on Friday at the Barangay Katilingban Gym in Molo.
Charles Sindol highlighted Silver Knights’ dominance with 27 points as his team grabbed the solo lead in the high school category with an immaculate 4-0 win-loss record.
The Silver Knights will hope to continue its winning run as it takes on the Jalandoni Memorial National High School at 3:30 p.m. following the other high school game between St. Roberts International Academy and Iloilo National High School at 2 p.m.
The Sta. Clarita International High School Primes (2-1), meanwhile, also kept its hot streak after beating Jalandoni Memorial National High School (0-3), 92-65, behind the 27 markers of Frank Tono.
Meanwhile, St. Roberts International Academy (2-1) recovered from its first defeat at the hands of the Primes with a 102-61 domination over the slumping Iloilo City National High School (0-4).
In the college category, the Central Philippine University Golden Lions rode on the 21 points of Clinton Sapio to defeat St. Paul University, 92-65. The Golden Lions improved to 2-1, while St. Paul slipped to 0-3.
In the 40 and up category, PISAI scored a 115-72 win over MASA behind Aniceto Avenido’s 16 points, while the Iloilo Executive defeated the Iloilo Tuesday Club, 88-77, behind the 27 points of Barangay Captain Lee Quimsing.
The 2017 Iloilo City Invitational Basketball Tournament, also known as the Mayors Cup-1st Conference, is organized by the Iloilo City Government and presented by Flanax and Bonamine./PN
