ILOILO City – Twenty-nine sachets of shabu were seized from a drug pushing suspect in Barangay San Jose, Molo district.
Around 11:20 p.m. on Saturday, the 39-year-old Pablito Gullo of Barangay Sta. Cruz, Arevalo district was arrested and detained at the Molo police station.
An undercover police officer initially bought from Gullo a sachet of shabu for P1,200, according to Senior Inspector Kennith Bermejo, chief of the Police Regional Office 6’s Regional Drug Enforcement Unit (RDEU).
Twenty-eight more sachets valued at P42,000 were found in the suspect’s possession after his arrest.
Bermejo said Gullo was a new high-value drug target.
“He started his illegal activity only two months ago and did not have runners or couriers. He did the transactions himself so he was easily arrested,” said Bermejo.
The RDEU believed the suspect’s supplies were from Negros Occidental where shabu was cheaper at P12,000 per five grams.
In Iloilo, five grams of shabu cost P15,000, said Bermejo.
“At saka mabilis lang ang pag-transport kasi via sea vessel lang,” he added.
