ROXAS City – Despite the lean months, rice supply remains stable in Capiz.
The market price was stable with a price increase of only P2 per kilogram (kg) in June, said National Food Authority (NFA) information officer Mary Christie Harion.
Well-milled rice costs P39 to P45 per kg while regular milled rice is at P35 to P38. Premium rice is sold at P52 to P70 per kg while NFA rice is at P27.
NFA provincial manager Oliver Cambas assured Capiceños of sufficient rice supply.
The total rice inventory in August was 310,960 bags: 96,880 were in retailers and wholesalers, 146,640 in households, and 67,440 in NFA warehouses in Dumalag, Sigma, and Bolo in the city.
According to Cambas, the province has enough rice for 55 days with a 5,640 daily bag requirement.
NFA in Capiz closely monitors the market price of rice and ensures the quality and sufficient rice supply, Cambas added. (PIA/PN)
