MANILA – Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa said Mayor Jed Patrick Mabilog has nothing to be afraid in the reassignment of Chief Inspector Jovie Espenido to Iloilo City.
He also clarified that Espenido will look into not only the illegal drugs problem in Iloilo City but also other peace and order concerns.
In an interview after his new assignment was announced, Espenido said it was up to Mabilog if he would voluntarily surrender to the police.
He said Mabilog still appeared in the updated drug list of President Rodrigo Duterte.
He also said he wanted to personally talk to Mabilog.
Mabilog had been insisting that the city government under him had not been negligent in address the illegal drug problem.
“Our campaign against drug trafficking is nonstop. For one year, todo-todo ang kampanya naton bangod sa aton pagsuporta, pagsabat sa panawagan sang Presidente,” he said.
The city government established drug rehabilitation centers and designed livelihood and skills training programs for drug surrenderers aside from supporting the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the police logistically, stressed Mabilog./PN
