ILOILO – The Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of the provincial capitol will hold a job fair on Dec. 8. An estimated 14,000 jobs are up for grabs.
Ninety-four local companies have so far confirmed their participation. These include hospitals, colleges, construction companies, hotels and restaurants, bakeshops, malls, real estate companies, distribution companies, car companies, and banks, according to PESO.
Twenty-four overseas recruitment agencies based in Cebu, Manila, Bacolod and Iloilo cities will also be joining the job fair at the provincial capitol.
Concerned government agencies will be setting up desks to help applicants. These are the Department of Foreign Affairs, National Bureau of Investigation, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Professional Regulation Commission, PhilHealth, Social Security System, Technical Education and Skills Development Authority, Philippine Statistics Authority, and Department of Labor and Employment.
Prior to the Dec. 8 j ob fair, however, a weeklong special recruitment activity will be held from Nov. 20 to 24 and Nov. 27 to 29, according to PESO.
The Industrial Personnel and Management Services, Inc. on Nov. 20 and 21 will be hiring food and beverage employees, fit models, product managers, flight attendants for Qatar and Saudi airlines, draftsmen, furnace and mechanical engineers, and nurses for Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom.
The ASC Global Recruitment, on the other hand, is scouting for female nurses while MMS Placement International Inc. is looking for nurses, therapists and laboratory technicians.
The Arab Peninsula Manpower Services will hire technicians, supervisors, electricians, painters, masons, carpenters, and plumber for Saudi Arabia./PN
