BACOLOD City – There will be a cleanup drive in the city today.
The city government, in cooperation with the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) and the Department of Education (DepEd), will be holding the cleanup in preparation for the upcoming holiday season and for the general assembly of the Career Executive Service Office next week, according to City Administrator John Orola.
The assembly, which will be from Nov. 21 to 23 at the L’ Fisher Hotel in the city, is expected to be attended by about 1,000 delegates.
“This (assembly) will be attended by prominent personnel from various national government agencies,” Orola said.
Orola added that the organizers requested the city government to conduct the cleanup, which aims to remove vandals in the city, especially on walls of private and public school buildings.
Orola said prior to the conduct of the cleanup, he met with the BCPO and the DepEd, which both responded positively.
They will be cleaning areas along Lacson Street to Barangay Mandalagan, the public plaza, the downtown area, the Negros Occidental High School, and areas along Araneta Street./PN
