BACOLOD City – The Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Nocppo) urged owners of KTV (karaoke television) bars in the province to ban their customers from bringing deadly weapons in their establishments.
Nocppo director Senior Superintendent Rodolfo Castil Jr. said this is for safety inside KTV bars.
“We are appealing to the public to cooperate and coordinate with us,” Castil stressed.
Part of Nocppo’s intensified anticrime campaign is posting information materials about the dangers that firearms and bladed weapons pose especially when in the hands of someone under the influence of alcohol.
These incidents usually happen in KTV bars and other establishments of the same orientation, Nocppo said.
Moreover, Nocppo’s Enhanced Managing Police Operations created an intervention program preventing possible commission of crimes in Negros Occidental.
Police stations in the province are conducting inspection and information dissemination drives among KTV bars and other establishments that sell liquors.
The owners of the establishments were told to make sure that their customers do not possess any deadly weapon before starting a drinking binge.
