BACOLOD City – Councilor Rosalinda Tuvilla II of Talisay City appealed to anyone who has a copy of the video dubbed as the “Talisay City sex scandal” to delete it.
Tuvilla, chairwoman of the Sangguniang Panlungsod committee on women, children and the youth, said this amid the fast spread of the sex video, not only in Talisay but also in Bacolod and other neighboring towns and cities.
Tuvilla stressed that the having a copy of the video and spreading it online are punishable under Republic Act 9995, or the Anti-Photo and Video Voyeurism Act of 2009, and Republic Act 10175, or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
The video features a 16-year-old girl and an 18-year-old man in their school uniforms. Tuvilla added that watching it is also tantamount to exploitation of minors.
The first-termer councilor said she already coordinated with the Department of Social Welfare and Development to locate the teenagers for counseling or any help.
Tuvilla was currently drafting a resolution regarding the issue that she plans to file before the SP in this week’s regular session.
She also plans to deliver a privilege speech encouraging the public to help in stopping the spread of the video.
Parents whose children are enrolled in a private school where the girl in the video goes have expressed their concern over the matter.
One of them said that a group of teenage boys taunted her daughter because she was wearing the same uniform as the girl in the video.
Copies of the video are also spreading among students in a public elementary school in Talisay./PN
