ILOILO City – Three men were injured when an aluminum van crashed against a parked sugarcane-loaded truck yesterday in Barangay Punong, Passi City.
Jayson Albisor, 29, of Barangay Bantique, Panay, Capiz and Eugene Singular, 26, of Tapaz, Capiz were wounded on the legs and arms.
They were being treated at the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao district as of this writing.
Their driver – Edmund Bulontad, 29, of Barangay Bangon-bangon, Sigma, Capiz – sustained contusions.
Bulontad was driving the van loaded with Goldilocks products. Albisor and Singular were his aides.
They were bound for Roxas City when the accident happened at around 4:30 a.m., investigator Senior Police Officer 4 Regie Pedroso said.
Pedroso identified the truck driver as Louie Guarte, 29, of Barangay Vista Alegre, Barotac Viejo, Iloilo.
The impact caused the truck to hit another parked sugarcane-loaded truck while an Iloilo City-bound roll-on, roll-off bus sideswiped the van, police said. (Panay Balita/PN)
