Ginpirmahan ni Presidente Rodrigo Duterte ang proklamasyon nga nagakategoriya sa Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) kag sang iya armed wing nga New People’s Army (NPA) bilang terrorist group kasunod sang pagkanselar sang peace talks.
Ginhambal ni Presidential spokesman Harry Roque nga ang deklarasyon ginhimu “in view of the violent acts of the CPP-NPA, which sow and create a condition of widespread and extraordinary fear and panic among the populace.”
“As the President has stated before, he has finally classified the CPP-NPA as a terrorist organization within the purview of the Human Security Act,” siling ni Roque.
Ang mando ni Duterte nagapahanugot man sa gobyerno nga lagson ang grupo ukon indibidwal nga nagasuporta sa CPP-NPA.
Eksplikar ni Roque, sa idalom sang Human Security Act ang sin-o man nga persona ukon entity makabig nga terorista kon sila ang naga-finance sa grupo sa idalom sang applicable resolution sang United Nations Security Council ukon jurisdiction ukon supranational jurisdiction.
“Take note that the domestic statute and the UN Security Council prohibit the giving of funds to terrorist organizations,” eksplikar pa niya.
