BACOLOD City – The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) of Negros Occidental turned over to Gov. Alfredo Marañon Jr. its approved P3.546-billion provincial budget for 2018.
Marañon received the appropriation ordinance after the presentation of the executive-legislative agenda during the SP’s regular session last week.
SP approved a budget which is 12-percent higher compared to this year’s P3.154-billion fund.
The 2018 budget is composed of the general fund at P3.182 billion, the hospital operations department (HOD) fund at P1.456 billion and economic enterprise development department (EEDD) fund at P66.286 million.
The general fund covers P779-million personal services fund, P281-million maintenance and other operating expenses, P963-million special appropriations fund, and the P1.1 billion inter-fund transfers between the HOD and EEDD funds.
The HOD budget includes P1.255-billion personal services fund, P196-million maintenance and other operating expenses fund and P5-million fund for other appropriations while the EEDD budget, P38-million personal services fund, P27-million maintenance and other operating expenses fund and P1.2-million fund for other appropriations.
The 2018 budget is sourced from the provincial government’s projected Internal Revenue Allotment worth P3 billion and the local income worth P152 million. (PNA/PN)
