ILOILO City – Holding color/number games has cost a resident of Barangay San Lucas, Barotac Viejo, Iloilo his liberty.
Raffy Lamonte, 30, was accused of violating Republic Act 9287, the law imposing higher penalties for illegal gambling.
He was detained at the Banate police station after local officers arrested him in Barangay Poblacion, Banate at around 10:40 p.m. on Dec. 21.
Lamonte was caught “engaging in illegal color/number games” at an amusement park set up in time for Kasag Festival, a police report showed.
The arresting officers led by the station commander Chief Inspector Jojo Tabaloc also seized from Lamonte P1,272 cash./PN
