ILOILO City – Someone sneaked into a house at Metropolis Iloilo residential subdivision in Barangay Bitoon, Jaro district on the wee hours of Christmas Day but it wasn’t Santa Claus.
According to house owner Lucho Giron, 46, somebody stole several jewelry pieces and cash in his room.
He discovered the robbery at around 7:15 a.m. yesterday and immediately reported the burglary to the Jaro police station.
Giron said his stolen jewelry pieces and money reached around P200,000.
Policemen who checked the house said the robber likely passed through an unlocked sliding window, said Senior Inspector Tranquilino Querubin, Jaro police chief.
As of this wring, the Jaro police station was yet to name any suspect.
Iloilo City Police Office spokesperson Senior Inspector Shella Mae Sangrines once again reminded residents to lock their houses before leaving.
She also appealed to barangay officials to help the police secure their villages, especially at night.
