KALIBO, Aklan β Senior Superintendent Samuel Nacion, officer-in-charge Aklan police director, is leaving his post for a new assignment at the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6).
Senior Superintendent Iver Appelido will temporarily take the helm at the Aklan Police Provincial Office (APPO).
βI will have a new assignment at the PRO-6,β Nacion confirmed, but he did not disclose what his new designation is.
Nacion on Wednesday thanked the Philippine National Police for trusting him to lead APPO, and the local officials, police officers, media, and the community for their support.
Appelido was acting commander of 6th Regional Public Safety Battalion, which has troopers from Iloilo and Negros Occidental.
He led the 120 battalion personnel who were sent to Zamboanga City last year during a standoff between government troops and the Moro National Liberation Front rebels.
Nacion was promoted to senior superintendent on Jan. 22 and headed the PRO-6 Regional Operations and Plans Division. He was designated as APPO officer-in-charge a month later.
He once led the APPO as officer-in-charge in January 2011 and the Boracay Special Tourist Protection Office, now Boracay Tourist Assistance Center, as chief in April 2011. (Aklan Forum Journal/PN)
