What’s in a kiss?
President Duterte kissed a Filipina overseas worker on the lips during a meeting with the Filipino community in Seoul, South Korea. Cool or uncool?
The President should act with decency. This act of kissing a woman on the lips in public offends me as a Filipino and as a woman. The President just proves he lacks respect for women. – MARGO ELIE, 20, former call center agent
Kahuluya gid ‘ya. Whatever his reasons, I don’t think his kissing a woman on the lips is okay. I will understand siguro if sa cheeks. Even my little brother wondered why the President did that. The President already has a partner, children and grandchildren.
Maayo pa gani mga bata kabalo mag intindi sang maayo kag indi. Siya nga Presidente wala gapataha. – GISSEL JANE ARELLANO, fresh graduate, 20, Banate Iloilo
Shame on him. I lost my respect for him. He offends and disappoints me as a woman. He should act respectable and serve as a role model since he’s the President of this country. If I am not mistaken, he also kissed a supporter last February and found it okay because he was used to doing it in Davao.
This really insults me. I really loathe him. – CARHLA MAE BALENIA, 15, San Rafael National High School
I don’t think this is a big deal. We should not overreact. It’s only a kiss. He didn’t even force the woman to kiss him, right?
His kissing doesn’t have anything to do with criminality and corruption. Besides, nobody’s perfect. I still respect him. – CHARRIE ACUÑA, 19, student, Colegio de San Jose
In my 48 years of existence, bag-o lang ko kabati sang istorya nga amo na.
– RICKY GALARDO, 48,Jeepney driver

Firing officials
What is your take on President Duterte firing government officials for “dealing” with his relatives?
If there’s no bad intention, that would be fine. May impluwensya gid kag ginakahadlukan. – ALYSSA KAYE ALBA, 19, journalism student
I don’t agree. Those officials have the right to due process. – XYKIE VI FANTILANAN, student
– JOSEPH FRANCO, tricycle driver
It’s better to fire them, especially if there is bad motive. – BLESSY KAYE MALLORCA, student
– QUINNIE SEQUITO, student
