Teacher found dead in apartment

ILOILO City – A senior high school teacher was found dead in his apartment room in Barangay Yulo Drive, Arevalo district late Sunday night.

The body of 26-year-old Mark Eden Ellaga of Patnongon, Antique was already in a state of decomposition, according to Senior Inspector Eduardo Siacon, Arevalo police chief.

The caretaker of Arthur’s Villa apartment, Arman Besa, discovered the body at around 10:20 p.m.

Besa was searching for the source of a foul smell that apartment tenants were complaining about and ended up before the door of Ellaga’s room. He opened the door and found the body.

Ellaga was on his bed lying face down, said Siacon.

As of this writing, the cause of death remained unknown.

“We will wait for the result of the autopsy that will be conducted,” said Siacon.

Ellaga was a senior high school teacher at John B. Lacson Foundation Maritime University. He started renting the apartment on June 12.

Siacon said all the properties of Ellaga appeared intact.

There were no signs of struggle in the room, he added./PN
