ILOILO City – A 23-year-old resident of Barangay San Pedro, Pilar, Capiz was found dead with multiple stab wounds on the body in Barangay Dolores, Balasan, Iloilo on Dec. 31.
Joemarie Bargo’s body was found in a rice field at around 7:30 a.m. His neck was also slashed.
Bargo, a gay man, was last seen alive walking with four companions on the night of Dec. 30, according to Balasan police station investigator Police Staff Sergeant Bryan Montaño. He failed to go home.
The police has one person of interest but declined to identify this individual. It is looking for witnesses.
“We believe that at least four persons killed the victim. We are conducting an investigation to know the motive,” said Montaño.
Two pairs slippers and a lighter were found near where Bargo’s body was found.
Montaño said the victim was not in the Balasan police station’s drug list./PN
