BACOLOD City – A man was believed to have drowned in Himogaan River in Barangay Paraiso, Sagay City, Negros Occidental.
Police identified him as 67-year-old resident Godofredo Villacarlos.
According to police investigators, Villacarlos and his four other nephews were gathering shells in the river prior to the incident around 7 a.m. on Feb. 28.
Villarcarlos’ lifeless body was found by rescuers in a nipa plantation approximately 300 meters away from where he reportedly drowned around 11 a.m. on Saturday, a police report showed.
Officers of the Sagay City police station said Villarcarlos’ body was brought to a local mortuary for a “post-mortem” examination./PN
