According to traffic investigator Police Staff Sergeant Jessie Cabial, the Indian national did not stop after hitting Jardio.

The suspect continued driving his car fast and hit another motorcycle on Carpenter’s Bridge in Barangay Tabucan, Mandurriao, throwing off driver Bonn Sean Sanz, 34, of Barangay San Jose, Molo district; and backriders Jane Recaforte, 20, of Kalibo, Aklan; and John Chasmer Tupas, 21, of Batotac Viejo, Iloilo.

It was there where authorities managed to arrest the Indian national.

Jardio was declared dead at The Medical City in Molo while Sanz, Recaforte and Tupas were treated at the Western Visayas Medical Center in Mandurriao.

“The suspect was reeking with liquor. He obviously lost control of his car,” said Cabial.

The Indian national was detained at the Mandurriao police station and would be charged with reckless imprudence resulting to homicide and multiple frustrated homicide./PN
