
ILOILO City – Iloilo taekwondo jins from the A. Diasnes gym netted a total of 10 medals in the second and final day of the 2020 Smart/MVP Sports Foundation National Online Poomsae Taekwondo Championships on Sunday.
Mariel Angela Siscar and Lansil Andrew Brotarlo won a gold medal each after emphatically displaying dominance in the brown female 10-11 contest and the brown male cadet division, respectively. Meanwhile, Ahmed Crissel Jhanin and and Jan Andrew Gancero nabbed a silver each in their respective participated categories.
Lym Owen Santacera also clinched a gold medal in the brown female cadet class while her teammate Artha Taganon settled for a silver prize.
The other gold medal winners for A. Diasnes were Jesseray Frantilla (brown male junior category) and
Kian Castigador (blue male 8 and below).
Kristi Marie Siscar, on the other hand, delivered a silver medal in the brown female nine and below category and Tady Cross got the same prize in the blue male junior/senior.
The Iloilo Mark V. Pinggol Taekwondo Gym, for its part, had three athletes who captured medals.
Gold was won by Justin Adrian Apura in the brown male 10-11 class, silver was what Phil Caleb Regalado grabbed in the blue male 9-11 category and a bronze was named to Joshua Cachero in the black male senior 1 division.
Leigh Andee Rodriguez of Negros Taekwondo Union-Tigers New Gen also netted a gold medal while Rhianne Jane Macabales of Antique TKD settled for silver finish in the blue female 9-11 category.
The country’s first-ever online tournament came in the heels of the Filipino’s three-gold haul in the 1st Online Daedo Open European Poomsae Championships last month./PN
