ILOILO City – The Saint Raphael the Archangel Parish Church in Balete, Aklan was robbed.
Parish priest Jarvin Taglay, 43, said the donation box containing undetermined amount of money and placed near the altar of the church was discovered stolen around 5:30 a.m. on Aug. 19. It was lay minister Clemencio Nava who discovered the donation box was carted away and the left door of the church was opened, the priest added.
Officers of the Balate municipal police station reviewed a closed-circuit television and saw a man enter the church around 1:40 a.m. the same day.
They are still investigating the incident as of this writing./PN
