The 2018 CPBI dissemination was supposed to be last year but because of the pandemic, it was moved this year.
Conducted in May to September 2019, it aimed at generating information on MSMEs, gender disaggregated statistics on employment and updating basic information of establishments and enterprise for the improvement of the Statistical Business Register (SBR).
The reference period of all information gathered was year 2018, except for total employment which took a snapshot of the establishment’s number of employees as of 15 November 2018.
Data collected constituted bases upon which the government and the private sector can formulate policies and craft economic development plans.
Aviar underscored the importance of having the said census as these are inputs in the computation of the performance of the formal sectors of the economy./PN
