KALIBO, Aklan – A suspect in the rape of a minor was apprehended in Barangay Unidos, Nabas, Aklan.
Operating elements of the Nabas municipal police station served 33-year-old Jose “Darwin” Sajise with an arrest warrant at around 5:15 p.m. of Jan. 12.
Presiding Judge Bienvenido Barrios Jr. of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 3 here issued the warrant of arrest on Dec. 28, 2020.
According to the police, the court recommended no bail for the suspect’s temporary liberty.
Sajise was taken to the Nabas police station right after his arrest. He would be turned over to the court concerned.
The alleged rape happened sometime between 2015 and 2016, police said, when the family of the complainant was temporarily living in the suspect’s residence.
According to the complainant, the suspect threatened her with a knife and told her not to tell anyone about the rape./PN
