ILOILO – Due to the sharp increase in coronavirus disease 2019 cases (COVID-19), the provincial government adjusted some community quarantine measures.
The holding of fiesta thanksgiving gatherings in households are encouraged but such shall only include immediate members of the family and household.
Gatherings and excursions shall be limited to immediate members of the family and household.
Health and safety officers of establishments shall strictly monitor and manage compliance with minimum public health standards.
Establishments in the tourism and child recreation industry, such as, but not limited to, beach resorts, inland resorts, water parks, amusement parks and ecological parks, are allowed to operate provided that public events and gatherings (Christmas parties, receptions and celebrations) during the Christmas season shall not be allowed in their social halls, function rooms, cottages and other ancillary facilities; provided further that, only family gatherings and excursions involving immediate members of the family and household shall be allowed; and that the health and safety officer of the establishments shall strictly monitor and manage compliance with minimum public health standards.
For hotels and similar establishments for accommodation, repatriates and other persons who may be required to undergo mandatory facility-based quarantine shall be given priority accommodation – provided that only 50 percent operational capacity shall be allowed and only those accredited by the Department of Tourism and Department of Interior and Local Government, and only upon issuance of the a certificate of authority to operate.
Public events and gatherings (Christmas parties, receptions and celebrations) during the Christmas season shall not be allowed in their social halls, function rooms, cottages and other ancillary facilities. Only family gatherings involving immediate members of the family and household shall be allowed. The health and safety officer of the establishments shall strictly monitor and manage compliance with minimum public health standards.
These measures were contained in Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr.’s Executive Order (EO) No. 183-J, Series of 2021 amending EO No. 183, Series of 2020 which set community quarantine measures on public events and gatherings, and the management of establishments in the province.
Iloilo province is under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) until Feb. 28.
Defensor once again urged Ilonggos to religiously follow public health safety protocols such as wearing of facemask and face shield, social distancing and proper hand-washing./PN
