BACOLOD City – A man believed to be a victim of summary execution died at a hospital here.
The unidentified victim was found in Barangay Tabigue, EB Magalona, Negros Occidental on Thursday.
According to Police Captain Joseth Catonina, municipal police chief, residents found the victim with wounds near a sugarcane field.
To their surprise, the man was still conscious. The locals immediately contacted authorities. The victim was brought to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital where he eventually died.
Catonina, meanwhile, believed the victim possibly knew his assailants.
Police are currently eyeing two suspects, and they may have used either a tricycle or a motorcycle in transporting the victim to the area.
The man was not a resident of the town, Catonina stressed, as “no one here could positively identify him.”/PN
