BUENAVISTA, Guimaras – This town’s No. 9 most wanted person has been arrested.
Nelson Jayopelin, 31, of Barangay Mabini here was collared around 10:30 p.m. on March 15 in Barangay Millan, Sibunag, Guimaras.
The arrest was effected by joint elements of the Sibunag and Buenavista municipal police stations.
On Nov. 20, 2018 Jayopelin was subjected to a drug bust operation Purok Brago, Barangay Mabini.
He managed to escape but this did not deter the police from filing a complaint against him for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
On July 10, 2019 Presiding Judge Rosario Abigail Dris-Villanueva of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 65 (Jordan, Guimaras) issued an arrest warrant against Jayopelin.
After his arrest, the suspect was taken to the Sibunag municipal police station. He was later transferred to the Buenavista police station.
No bail bond was recommended for his temporary liberty./PN
