More than 12, 000 people in the province received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine as of Friday, April 23.
“So far as of April 23, there are 12,803 Ilonggos who got their shots, and 581 are senior citizens,” said Dr. Maria Socorro Colmenares- Quiñon, acting chief of the Provincial Health Office (PHO).
Around 1, 480 people from the 12,000 received their second dose. The Iloilo Provincial Government used the CoronaVac and the AstraZeneca for healthcare workers and senior citizens. The provincial government is currently waiting on the Department of Health’s (DOH) decision on where to allocate the vaccines next./PN
