
ILOILO – Five cars figured in an accident along the national highway in Barangay Mali-ao, Pavia, Iloilo yesterday.
According to Police Staff Sergeant Christian Lloyd Gumban, traffic investigator of the Pavia municipal police station, a Mitsubishi Lancer sedan stopped amid the traffic in Mali-ao when hit by an Isuzu dump truck. Due to the impact, the sedan hit another pick-up which subsequently hit a motorcycle and a public utility jeepney.
“Nawad-an sang preno ang driver sang dump truck kay mabug-at ang karga ‘ya nga baras,” Gumban told Panay News.

The vehicles were all bound for the town’s Barangay Aganan around 9:15 a.m.
The drivers – Ronald Enderes, 32, of Barangay Amurao, Cabatuan, Iloilo (truck); Marcelino Jaspe, 55, of Barangay Cabugao Sur, Pavia (sedan); Rhoel Lutero of Janiuay, Iloilo (pick-up); and Lino Leonor Jr. of New Lucena, Iloilo (jeepney) – were unhurt.
Meanwhile, motorcycle driver John Albert Nagorite of Hinigaran, Negros Occidental complained of body pain.
The truck driver was detained in the lockup cell of the Pavia police station, facing charges for reckless imprudence resulting to physical injury and damage to properties./PN
