ILOILO City – Violators of health protocols are wearing thin the police’s patience.
“Pila gid ginhawa sang mga pulis ka bantay sa inyo man,” said Colonel Uldarico Garbanzos, director of the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO).
He warned them of dire consequences.
“Indi gid ini magnubo ang coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases,” said Garbanzos, and this might result to Iloilo City being placed under the strictest containment measure – the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).
The city is currently under a modified ECQ. As of yesterday, it recorded 116 new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infections, raising the number of active cases to 1,982, data from the Department of Health (DOH) Region 6 showed.
“Tani magbuligay lang kita kay para man ini sa aton tanan,” said Garbanzos.
He urged barangay officials and watchmen to patrol their jurisdictions and enforce minimum health protocols, especially social distancing and the wearing of facemasks and face shields.
“Dapat kamo maglagaw sa inyo barangay kag sawayon ang mga wala naga-mask or ang wala naga–gamit sini sang insakto,” Garbanzos said.
Citing surveillance reports, Garbanzos said most violators were from the villages of Santo Niño and Calaparan in Arevalo district and San Juan and Calumpang in Molo district.
Calumpang was recently locked down due to the surge in coronavirus cases in the area.
“Indi pag paaboton nga mag-enhanced community quarantine kay kamo ang kalolooy. Let’s help man bala para madasig ang patapna sang virus,” said Garbanzos./PN
