Iloilo City mulls ‘drive-thru’ vaccination

ILOILO City – The city government is eyeing a “drive-thru” vaccination site to speed up the metro’s coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) inoculation program.

“It would be for those with vehicles and intending to take their second dose,” said Mayor Jerry Treñas.

Some 3,000 to 4,000 individuals are being registered daily for vaccination, he revealed, indicating a high level of acceptance for vaccination.

“We try to protect more Ilonggos from the coronavirus,” he said.

There are two vaccination sites in the city – the Central Philippine University Gymnasium in Jaro district and the Iloilo Convention Center in Mandurriao district. (PIA-6/PN)
