BELISON, Antique – Barangay Poblacion here is on lockdown. Cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) are rising.
The lockdown started yesterday.
“As of June 14, 29 positive COVID-19 cases were recorded by the Antique Provincial Health Office in the municipality, mostly situated in Barangay Poblacion,” said Mayor Christopher Piccio.
The continued implementation of proactive measures is necessary to ensure the outmost protection Belisongnons, he stressed in Executive Order No. 015 imposing the lockdown.
The lockdown will be until June 30 unless lifted earlier or extended.
“Tatlo na ang namatay dahil sa COVID-19 sa Poblacion…Pasensya na po muna kung medyo mabudlayan kamo…Dya nga decision para sa kaaraydan ka tanan,” said Piccio.
The Municipal Health Office will conduct random antigen and/or reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) tests.
Residents should be within their house perimeter at all times except when accessing basic commodities or for medical and humanitarian reasons. Only one family member shall be permitted to go in and out of the barangay.
Residents who manifest COVID-19 symptoms are advised to immediately isolate and coordinate with the Municipal Health Office (MHO) / Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERT) for assessment and monitoring.
Confirmed COVID-19 positive patients should immediately isolate and coordinate with the MHO for COVID-19 contact tracing. Patients should submit a list of accurate names of their close contacts for assessment and monitoring.
Checkpoints shall be established to be manned by barangay officials or any authorized persons.
All passing individuals should log their details on the logbook provided in the entry point.
The entry of locally stranded individuals, authorized persons and uniformed personnel residing in Barangay Poblacion is temporarily suspended until July 1.
Non-residents are not allowed to enter Barangay Poblacion except for essential deliveries, medical and/or humanitarian reason. Bystanders are not allowed along the national and barangay roads. Bikers are not allowed to do stopovers.
Only one family member shall be given a quarantine pass.
Essential and non-essential workers working outside or in Barangay Poblacion are permitted to travel provided they present their company identification cards, with medical certificate valid for 14 days from the Municipal Health Office.
Piccio also ordered a liquor ban and curfew (from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m.).
Daily public market operation is reduced from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Mass gatherings (sports events, religious activities, birthdays, weddings, parties, meetings, recreational activities and other similar activities) are prohibited./PN
