ILOILO – Thirty-eight houses in Lambunao town were ravaged by a tornado.
Six were totally damaged while 32 were partially hit, according to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC).
Most of the houses were made of light materials.
The tornado struck on June 25.
Vice Mayor Arvin Losaria said the affected houses were in barangays Jorog, Legayada , Simsiman, Supoc, Cayan Este, Lanot Grande, Lanot Pequiño, and Corot-on.
Tthe local government unit (LGU) released food assistance to the displaced households.
“Nag-meeting man ang LGU nga maghatag galvanized iron (GI) sheets kag iban pa nga items sa totally damaged nga mga balay,” Losaria told Panay News.
Affected residents sought temporary shelter with neighbors.
“Aside sa houses, may damage man sa agriculture pero ongoing pa gina-consolidate ang report,” the vice mayor added./PN
