BACOLOD City – The hospital bed utilization rate at the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital (CLMMRH) is nearing full capacity.

In an advisory late Friday night, the hospital’s bed utilization rate for non-Intensive Care Unit (ICU) coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID) areas was at 83.3 percent, while its ICU COVID beds already hit 100 percent for the past seven days.

“Hence, the hospital reminds the public to strictly follow health protocols to avoid the further transmission of COVID-19,” the hospital management said.

CLMMRH also announced it is closing the COVID Ward at the fourth floor of the West Tower Building to give way to repairs of sanitary pipelines.

“The closure will affect the number of allocated functional beds of the hospital and acceptance of COVID-19 patients for admission,” according to the hospital.

It will reopen the dedicated area for COVID-19 patients as soon as the repairs have been completed.

Based on the data released by the Bacolod City Emergency Operations Center, Bacolod City had 1,895 active COVID-19 cases, as of this writing.

Negros Occidental, meanwhile, posted 1,912 active COVID-19 cases based on data from the Department of Healthin Region 6./PN
