BACOLOD City – Stepping up its campaign against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the city government launched a vaccination “drive thru” at a mall.
Located at the fifth floor parking area of Ayala Malls Capitol Central, this drive thru are for healthcare workers with Philippine Regulation Commission and company identification cards; senior citizens with senior citizen identification cards; and persons with comorbidities with medical certificates.
Another stipulation: only those who have registered online would be accommodated, according to the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and the COVID-19 Vaccination Council (CoVaC).

Vaccination is ongoing in several malls and clustered barangays in this city.
Meanwhile, 428 market vendors received their first dose of anti-COVID-19 vaccine through the city’s mobile vaccination drive at the Central, Burgos and Libertad markets on Aug. 13.
Dubbed as “Vax-I”, the campaign is believed to be the first-of-its-kind initiated by a local government unit in the country, according to City Administrator Em Ang, executive director of EOC.
The city-owned buses were utilized for the “Vax-i”, making its first stop at the Libertad public market, where 124 vendors were inoculated.
The “Vax-i”, with doctors, nurses and other health volunteers onboard, also vaccinated 190 vendors at the Central market.
Some 114 vendors also received their anti-COVID shots at the Burgos public market./PN
