ILOILO City – In the coming days, the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) will be deploying more police officers in public places across Western Visayas as part of the security measures with the start of the “ber” months.
According to PRO-6 spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Arnel Solis, more police officers will watch the streets across Western Visayas.
Solis said with the start of the “ber” months, crime rate is expected to rise.
Solis added that they are conducting weekly assessment of the Enhanced Managing Police Operations, wherein they are reviewing and analyzing the commission of eight focus crimes of lower units.
“We are conducting a weekly review. We are checking, analyzing and determining the gaps in order to give a possible solution. This will also strengthen our security measures because we expect that the lawless elements will strike,” Solis said.
He stressed that they are gearing up for maximum deployment of patrollers in crowded and crime-prone areas.
“We are deploying personnel during peak hours to include opening and closing of business establishments. We will also intensify our operations against loose firearms and wanted persons in order to neutralize their movements,” Solis added.
The PRO-6 will also closely coordinate with local government units, barangay officials and advocacy support groups such as barangay-based force multipliers and other anti-crime organizations.
“Also part of our preparation is the conduct of dialogue and coordination meetings with the community. Inspection will also be done to all police stations to know the readiness of the personnel,” added the spokesperson./PN
