ILOILO City – Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases in this southern city are still rising.
Between Sept. 1 and 12, the city was logging an average of 152 coronavirus cases daily, data from the City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU) showed.
This was a hundred-percent higher than the 76 daily average cases logged in the same period last month.
In the first 12 days of September, the city recorded 1,823 confirmed cases – 101.21 percent higher than the 906 recorded in the same period last month.
HIGH RISK
The Department of Health (DOH) in Region 6 still classified Iloilo City as high risk for COVID-19.
Based on the DOH-6’s Health System Capacity Monitoring, as of Sept. 12, the city posted 78.17 percent health care utilization rate (HCUR).
On Sept. 13, based on the bulletin issued by the DOH-6, Iloilo City had 159 additional positive cases, bringing the total active cases to 2,234.
The city came after Iloilo province that had the most number of active cases in the region at 6,074./PN
